Meet Pic La Lune II
Pic La Lune II is a 14-metre expedition ketch designed by Laurent Giles, with three double cabins and accommodation for up to 10 people onboard. Operating with small groups of 6–7 guests and crew, she is used for voyages through the Fuegian channels, Península Mitre and Isla de los Estados.
Designed for extended sailing journeys, Pic La Lune II offers an autonomy of up to 45 days and is equipped with heating, internet connectivity, radar, GPS/plotter, VHF, satellite communications and Starlink. Based in Ushuaia, she provides a compact and well-equipped platform for exploring the remote waters of Tierra del Fuego.
Sailing aboard Pic La Lune II is an active experience. Guests can take part in manoeuvres, watches, planning and daily life onboard, gaining hands-on experience while navigating in changing conditions. For journeys to Isla de los Estados, this means high-latitude ocean sailing through the Beagle Channel and across the challenging Le Maire Strait, where weather and sea conditions shape the voyage.
Landing Craft Availability
Unlike other vessels in the 60 South fleet, Meredian is uniquely equipped with a dedicated landing craft, enhancing its ability to support complex logistics and remote operations. This landing craft is exclusively assigned to Meredian and is not available on other ships, such as the Hans Hansson. This ensures guests and project teams benefit from superior shore access and independent deployment capabilities during expeditions.
